Alfred Gough and Miles Millar served as showrunners for the first season. The pair previously worked together on the superhero series Smallville.  In its opening weekend the show became a huge success on Netflix and lead actress Jenna Ortega posted a thank you note to the cast on Instagram. Season 2 has been announced for 2024.
